Cooper Finch<\/strong>
\nNeben altbekannten werden auch heuer wieder neue Gesichter bei den Cubs aufs Spielfeld auflaufen. Sowohl aus dem In- als auch aus dem Ausland hat man Verst\u00e4rkung geholt.<\/h3>\n

Erst vor wenigen Tagen ist Cooper Finch aus Kanada bei uns gelandet. Der 23-j\u00e4hrige Catcher und Infieldspieler kommt aus Calgary und wird neben der Ersten Mannschaft den Verein auch als Nachwuchs-Coach unterst\u00fctzen. In diesem Bereich konnte er in seiner Heimat bereits ausreichende Erfahrung sammeln. Im Zuge seiner Baseballkarriere spielte er auch gegen zahlreiche ehemalige Minor-League-Spieler. In der Foothills Major Baseball League wurde er zum All-Star-Spieler gek\u00fcrt – sein bisheriger Karriereh\u00f6hepunkt, wie er betont. Zuletzt trat Cooper als Starting Catcher f\u00fcr die Prairie Baseball Academy auf. Allerdings zwang die Corona-Pandemie auch diese Liga zum Abbruch der Saison.<\/p>\n

„Cubs bieten mir einmalige Chance“<\/strong>
\nCooper freut sich nun auf „diese einmalige Chance, die mir die Cubs bieten“. Denn f\u00fcr ihn war es ein gro\u00dfer Traum, auch einmal \u00fcber den Atlantik zu springen und in Europa Baseball zu spielen. „Ich habe viele gute Dinge \u00fcber die Menschen in \u00d6sterreich geh\u00f6rt. Au\u00dferdem wei\u00df ich, dass es hier eine gut funktonierende und wachsende Baseball-Infrastruktur mit hohem Niveau gibt“, begr\u00fcndet der 23-J\u00e4hrige seine Entscheidung, in die rot-wei\u00df-rote Liga zu wechseln.<\/p>\n

Der sympathische Catcher hat sich bei seinen ersten Trainings, in denen er noch mit den Folgen der Zeitverschiebung zu k\u00e4mpfen hatte, schon gut ins Team eingef\u00fcgt. Das eine oder andere deutsche Wort ist mittlerweile schon h\u00e4ngen geblieben. „Ich schnappe manche Dinge auf, denn es gibt viele \u00c4hnlichkeiten zwischen dem Deutschen und dem Englischen“, zeigt sich Cooper erleichtert.<\/p>\n

Richard Reifm\u00fcller (Gramastetten Highlanders)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Weiters wird Richard Reifm\u00fcller aufgrund seines tempor\u00e4ren Wohnortwechsels als Leihspieler von den Gramastetten Highlanders die Cubs Lineup als Catcher und Infielder verst\u00e4rken. Bei seinem Heimverein hat er bereits vor 12 Jahren in jungem Alter Baseball zu spielen begonnen. Am H\u00f6hepunkt seiner spielerischen Karriere folgten Berufungen in diverse Nachwuchsnationalteams. In den letzten zwei Jahren kam sein Talent den Attnang Athletics zugute, denen er ebenfalls geliehen wurde, damit er Spielerfahrung in der h\u00f6chsten Baseballliga sammeln kann. <\/p>\n

In seiner Freizeit geht Richard gerne wandern und ins Fitnessstudio. Er zeigt sich \u00e4u\u00dferst motiviert und freudig auf die n\u00e4chste Etappe in seiner Karriere:<\/p>\n

 „Ich freue mich, dass ich w\u00e4hrend meiner Zeit in Wien weiterhin den Sport auf hohem Niveau weiter aus\u00fcben darf. Einige Spieler der Cubs kenne ich bereits aus der Vergangenheit und verstehe mich mit diesen sehr gut.“<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
